Porcelain figurine "Torch bearer". White, height 28 cm Socle shows Olympic Rings. Useable as spirit lamp. Container for ethyl alcohol in figurine's arm. This figurine is often untruly related to the Olympic Games of 1936 or 1972. In fact this figurine was produced by a GDR manufactory in Thuringia aiming at the Olympic summer games 1984 in Los Angeles. The boycott of the games by the states of the Warsaw Pact prevented the delivery of the figurine. After the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 the 5 year old memorabilia was thrust out in pallets and flooding the market.
